Are Open to Being experiences for adults or children?
Open to Being is a space for multi-generational groups of adults and teens. If you want to include younger children, please choose an experience designated as “all ages” or contact us about a bespoke experience. (Note that children under 18 are required to have an adult with them throughout the entire experience.)
Can I invite other people?
Yes! In fact, we encourage it. Specific experience descriptions note how many people can be included in registration and how to purchase a gift registration for someone.
If you are interested in gathering a group, contact us about designing a bespoke experience for you.
Can I participate by myself?
Absolutely! Through the activities, you will easily connect with other participants. However, if you are feeling introverted, the experience will support you in connecting more deeply with your intuition and inner self (and/or Spirit/God/Universe/Energy).
Are live experiences recorded?
Most of our experiences are live in order to ebb and flow intentionally with each group's dynamics. If an experience is pre-recorded or recordings are available, it will be noted in the description. Please read each description carefully for details.
Do I need special equipment or materials?
Our experiences take place on Zoom. Specific material recommendations will be noted in the experience description.
How much space do I need?
Enough to move your body a little, but that can be in a chair, bed, or cozy corner. It’s sometimes helpful to set yourself up at or near a table or desk as well.
Mindfulness is meditation, right? Do I have to know how to meditate?
Our intention is to facilitate curious awareness throughout your life - inclusive of all kinds of experiences, practices, life stages, cultural backgrounds, or beliefs.
While we don’t believe meditation is a requirement for everyday mindfulness, it can be a meaningful step in your journey toward building more curious awareness throughout your life, and there are many other benefits as well. We believe that having an intentionally designed space and time for practicing together is a great way to learn more and better understand your experiences - at that moment or in another moment.
We often incorporate meditation in our experiences. When we do, we will guide you and support your individuality by providing you suggestions and options that work for you.
Is there yoga involved?
You will likely find some overlap between our mindful movement and what you know as yoga, but we are not teaching specific poses, sequences, or types of yoga. The purpose of mindful movement is for you to experience shifts in your body, mind, and/or spirit so you can become more Open to Being.
I’m not an artist. Is this for me?
Absolutely! Curious, creative connection is accessible to everyone.
Will I learn art?
Art is integral to our experiences, and we use art techniques and materials. We are not teaching art classes, nor do we focus on art skills, critiques, or products. The journey is the heart of Open to Being experiences.
What is your refund policy?
Specific experiences have different refund policies - please see descriptions for details.
We do not offer Sparkshop™ refunds. However, we do understand that life and circumstances change. In those situations, please contact us at least 72 hours before the workshop date to explain, and we’ll do our best to work with you to find a solution.
